The Solution
We developed TransPax™, a proprietary coating technology designed to optimize the drug coating integrity and efficiently deliver the drug to the tissue. A loading tool and Sterling™ balloon also contribute to coating integrity, deliverability and intuitive use. With these innovations the Ranger™ DCB provides a consistent and predictable treatment option.
The Challenge
During the PTA procedure, the coating on drug coated balloons can be damaged prior to lesion treatment. This may result in the drug and excipient flaking off the balloon before reaching the lesion. As a consequence, the actual drug delivery to the lesion may be non-homogeneous and inconsistent.
