The latex balloon catheter with a silicone coating for medium indwelling time. The silcoat catheter has a pure latex core with an additional silicone-elastomer coating both inside and outside to minimise encrustation, at comparatively low costs. The catheter can remain in place for up to 14 days which is longer than associated with regular latex catheters.
